To unite Catholic students in California.
The idea of UCCC was born one night in a small apartment two blocks from Newman Hall, Berkeley. Few friends came together to discuss the needs of Catholic college students.
During the 2012-2013 academic year, Rosemary Hua held a seat in the 20-person legislative branch of the UC Berkeley student government and became the first Senator to represent the Catholic constituent body. With her Chief Deputies of Interfaith Programs, Crystal Wang and Mosa Tsay, UCCC was made a reality.
Now, college students from schools all over California participate in this annual intercollegiate Catholic conference over Presidents’ Day weekend, with its location rotating to different schools each year.
Six years later, by the grace of God, UCCC is now in the process of establishing itself as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with a full Board of Directors, social media team, and annual core team.
“There is one body and one Spirit, as you were also called ot the one hope of your call; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.” [Ephesians 4:4-6]
